Along the path and extending into the darker middle ground are many small human figures gathered and moving, some standing and some seated, rendered in sketchy lines and silhouettes. In the foreground a few larger, more detailed figures stand near the path, one raising an arm and another facing forward with faint light on their torso. On the left foreground are rocky outcrops and reclining figures, with a leaning tree and dense foliage farther back. The right foreground shows low vegetation and figures crouched or seated among textured ground. The overall image is monochrome with dense cross-hatching and varied line work creating contrast and depth.
