The figure wears a low-cut bodice with a fitted front and sleeves that gather at the wrists, and a patterned skirt draped over her lap. Behind her is a carved chair back with scrolling ornamental motifs. The oval is set within a rectangular frame decorated with diagonal line shading and repeating geometric motif panels in the corners, and the background inside the oval is filled with dense crosshatching.
