The cottage features steep sloping roofs with textured straw lines, small dark window openings, and a partially visible doorway. Vegetation, including bushes and tall grasses, grows along the right side and near the water’s edge, rendered with fine, sketchy strokes. A low wooden fence or posts appear beside the cottage, and a small wooden dock or platform extends into the water. In the foreground a round, basket-like object sits partially submerged, and reflections and ripples are indicated on the water’s surface. Overall the image is composed of delicate, linear etching marks on a worn, aged background.
