Beyond the shore are low, flat tidal flats and small grassy islands, with tiny buildings and a windmill dotting the distant horizon. Two small sailboats rest on the water, one nearer the shore and another slightly farther out. A solitary figure walks along the wet sand toward the water. Above, a vast sky fills most of the scene with layered, billowing clouds and streaked, linear shading across the upper expanse.
