The prints were produced by various artists based on drawings by Daniel Chodowiecki. In 1774 the collected print work was published under the title: Kupfersammlung zu JB Basedows Elementarwerk für die Jugend und ihre Freunde., Person, Johann Bernhard Basedow, the Olympian gods together: Jupiter, Juno, Neptune, Ceres, Apollo, Diana, Mars, Venus, Mercury, Minerva, Vulcan, Vesta (or Bacchus), A detailed engraving shows a group of classical figures reclining and seated on swirling clouds under a sky with radiating lines and scattered cloud formations; central figures include a draped man holding a staff and a muscular bearded man partially covered by cloth, surrounded by figures with various attributes such as helmets, shields, spears, a trident, and a lyre; several female figures appear with flowing hair and drapery, one nursing a child, while other males are depicted bare-chested or wearing classical armor and holding weapons; smaller cherubic figures and a reclining figure with an animal pelt are interspersed among the clouds, and ornate patterned shading and fine linework define the fabric, flesh, and cloud textures throughout the composition.
