The prints were produced by various artists based on drawings by Daniel Chodowiecki. In 1774, the collected prints were published under the title: Kupfersammlung zu JB Basedows Elementarwerk für die Jugend und ihre Freunde., Person, Johann Bernhard Basedow, making music, musician with instrument, folk dancing (men and women together), the good Samaritan (Luke 10:30-37), family, descendant, The image shows four detailed engraved vignettes arranged in a grid, each depicting groups of people in period clothing interacting in different settings; the upper left vignette portrays musicians playing stringed instruments around a long table in an arched interior with seated and standing onlookers, the upper right shows a figure leading a donkey along a riverside path with trees and distant hills, the lower left depicts a bustling outdoor scene with a carriage, mounted figures, and townspeople gathered and gesturing, and the lower right presents an interior where seated and standing figures, including a child and a man holding a small animal, engage near draped curtains and furniture.
