This series comprises virtually the artist's complete oeuvre and consists of 48 prints, mainly designs for ceilings., lute, and special forms of lute, eg: theorbo, viola, violoncello, double bass, transverse flute, clavichord, harpsichord, clarinet, bassoon, oboe, shawm, (story of the) Muses, 'Muse' (Ripa), sitting or standing on clouds - AA - female human figure, An oval ink drawing shows a group of robed figures seated on clouds beneath a lined sky, with flowing drapery and detailed crosshatching; one figure on the left holds a pear-shaped stringed instrument, another on the right extends an arm while holding a bow and has a large curved instrument behind them, a seated figure at right plays a transverse flute, and several central figures gesture or hold objects while partially draped; clouds form the foreground and surround scattered objects including a shield and other implements, and the composition features fine line shading and decorative cloud and sky motifs.
