A tall tree trunk with textured bark occupies the left foreground, and a simple metal fence surrounds the monument. In the background there are landscape elements including distant trees and fields, as well as two crosses—one plain wooden cross and one carved stone cross—visible to the right of the monument. Decorative printed borders frame the photograph on the paper mount.
