Gravskrifter fra Katakomberne, Ten funerary inscriptions from the Catabombs of Rome, photograph, page, number: '1, 10', Rome, c. 1876 - in or before 1886, photographer, paper, carbon print, height 167 mm x width 90 mm, funerary ceremonial, inscription, The image shows a tall vertical sheet with multiple rectangular stone plaques arranged in a column, each plaque containing carved figures and decorative motifs. At the top is a narrow dark plaque with simple tool-like shapes on its ends. Below it is a lighter rectangular panel with small carved objects and a bird to one side. The next larger plaque displays a ragged-edged stone with two standing human figures separated by a tree and a small animal, the left figure wearing a long garment with an upraised hand and the right figure holding a staff and wearing patterned leg coverings. To the side of this stone is a small square panel with a bell-like object and a tiny figure. Further down is a long horizontal band showing a sequence of small scenes including buildings, animals, and human figures. Below that is a rectangular panel featuring a boat and a stepped tower motif. Adjacent is another panel with circular depressions and small carved animals flanking a central human figure. Near the lower area is a narrow plaque with two portrait-like faces side by side. At the bottom is a wide light panel with a reclining lion and additional carved shapes. The background is a plain neutral surface with faint numbering along the right edge of the sheet.
