A large wooden scaffold or platform with a burning pile and a tall pole is positioned near the center, with ladders and people nearby. On the left a domed building and a tall narrow tower rise above dense rows of smaller structures, while on the right a large stone building with arched windows and a columned façade stands beside the tall tower. Hills and scattered buildings appear in the background under a textured sky where two reclining figures on clouds are visible near the top corners. The image has wide pale borders on both sides and a pale margin along the top and bottom.
