Le moulin de Champigny, Marne in Champigny-sur-Marne, photograph, page, photographer: Ildefonse Rousset, Champigny-sur-Marne, c. 1860 - in or before 1865, paper, albumen print, height 115 mm x width 156 mm, river, Marne (river), A faded sepia photograph shows a riverside scene framed by tall trees on both sides, their foliage dense and varied in texture. Along the near bank there is a wooden fence and a small building partially obscured by trees. A wooden structure extends over the water, with a dock area and what appear to be small boats moored nearby. The water surface is calm and reflective, mirroring the trees and structures with soft, vertical ripples and patches of lighter texture. The overall image has an arched top and a broad pale border surrounding it.
