Reliquaire Byzantin', photographer: Anselm Schmitz, c. 1871 - in or before 1876, paper, albumen print, height 125 mm x width 105 mm, sarcophagus, relics (and reliquaries), A photograph shows a rectangular ornate box with a sloped lid, raised on short carved legs, covered in decorative panels and medallions; the lid top has circular motifs and a frieze with rounded cutouts topped by a central finial with a small cross and spherical knobs at the corners; the front panel displays standing robed figures, circular ornaments, and a scene with an arched element and a seated winged figure, all rendered in a stylized carved and inlaid manner, with patterned borders along the edges.
