One boy sits on the floor leaning against the crate with his legs extended and a cap on his head, another stands to the left with hands in his pockets looking toward the center, a third stands behind the crate with a hand in his pocket wearing a hat and looking down, and a fourth kneels to the right holding a small object between his fingers while looking at it. A shallow metal bowl rests on top of the crate, straw is scattered on the floor, a coat hangs on the wall behind them, and a broom and a shelf with a small container are visible on the upper wall.
