Two labourers, sketchbook page, On the left, on the ground in uneven terrain, sits a man in a cross-legged position, drawn from behind. His back and shoulders are completely wrapped in a large shawl (chadar). Of the loincloth (veshti, lungi) he is wearing, only some folds are visible on the right. Around his head, which has short-cropped hair, he wears a headscarf or cap. The standing man wears a knee-length loincloth (veshti, lungi) pulled up between the legs and rolled up broadly at the waist, and a shawl (chadar) over his left shoulder and left upper arm. His upper body, right arm, and left forearm are uncovered. He is looking at his hands with which he is holding up a piece of palm leaf (?). Both men are likely from South India and were employed in Colombo in the reconstruction.
