Woman sitting on a boulder, sketchbook page, A Eurasian woman is sitting on a boulder. She is dressed in a long wrap skirt (redda) and a wide Portuguese blouse with a V-neck and long sleeves (hatte). Her hair is thick and wavy, without a middle parting, but probably tied in a bun (condé) at the back. On her lap lies something that looks like an open pouch. The fingers of her left hand are holding something, perhaps an areca nut. In the background on the left, a small house with a doorway is drawn very sketchily; the house (mati geya) has half-timbered walls of wood with woven domes and palm leaf, filled and plastered with clay (mati), and a roof of coconut palm leaf (cadjan) that projects far out. In front of it, a seated and a standing figure are drawn sketchily.
