The standing man on the left has short-cropped frizzy hair, and a large, elongated ear ornament hangs from his right earlobe: a string of beads. He is wearing a cloth draped over his left shoulder that reaches to his knees in front and behind. On his right hip, only a cord is visible to which a non-visible loincloth is tied. His right hand holds a short Gouda pipe to his mouth: smoke curls from the bowl. The material of the bracelets on his wrist is unclear: the small double bracelet is possibly made of flat beads, the larger band underneath of bone, ivory, or wood. The man on the right is sitting on a slope with his knees drawn up. He also has short-cropped frizzy hair. Except for his right arm, his entire body is wrapped in a large shoulder cloth. With his right hand, he holds a Gouda pipe in his mouth.
