The man on the left leans back slightly with one arm resting on the chair back and the other on the table, and he has a beard and mustache. The man on the right sits upright, holding a pen over papers, and he is clean-shaven. Behind them, a pair of tall paneled doors frame a curtained doorway with light coming through and a small table visible beyond it. On the left wall there is a framed picture above a simple wooden chair, and on the right there is a wooden cabinet with decorative panels and small glass panes. The room has paneled walls, a patterned floor covering, and a ceiling light fixture visible through the doorway.
