The outermost border is richly decorated with a continuous red band containing medallions in blue and white, small gold figures, and ornamental flourishes; in the four corners there are framed vignettes with scenes rendered in muted greens, browns, and reds. Overall the palette includes red, cream, gold, blue, green, pink, and touches of brown and beige.
