Sketch of garments (female figure VII), drawing for Zwierciadlo Venery; draughtsman: Feliks Stanislaw Jasinski (1862–1901); painter (author of the original): Edward Burne-Jones (1833–1898). Auxiliary sketch for the engraving, made from his own drawing or a color photograph, provided with the artist's notes. One stage in the work on the graphic reproduction. Jasinski's method: making drawings from a photograph of the painting onto a celluloid plate, printing them on varnish over a copper plate and etching them; drawings and tracings, with notes and color descriptions, guided subsequent etchings and use of styluses/needles. The engraving was started in November 1894 and completed July 29, 1896; Jasinski worked on it for nearly two years. Publisher: Tooth & Sons, London; engravings printed by Alfred Salmon and Adolphe Ardail, Paris; prints published on vellum in an edition of 400.
