Subject: windmills, rural Ukrainian landscape—village, town as linear cluster of roofs, contrasts of foreground strips of dynamically shaded transparent clods of earth and soft gray painterly meadows with patches of trees. Effects: bolder accents, mobile shadows; emphasis on foreground that became characteristic of Wyczólkowski. Height 13 cm, width 28 cm.
