Livonian half-mark (half-fine), ca. 1573. Obverse: inscription 'HALB/MARCK', two heraldic shields with the Eagle and Pogon, below the year '.15'. Rim inscription: '.MONE.N.ARGENTEA'. Reverse: a griffin with a raised sword turned to the left, separating the rim inscription '.- DVCA, LIVONIA, 1573'. Attributes: Pilawa and Gryf z mieczem coats of arms, griffins, Jagiellon dynasty, Polish coin; maker/publishers noted historically: Hincza Jakub and Iberfeld Walentyn; associated persons: Jan Hieronimowicz Chodkiewicz (ca. 1537–1579), Sigismund II Augustus (king of Poland, 1544–1572).
