Denarius of Julia Domna (ca. 160–217; Roman empress 193–211). Obverse: IVLIA AVGVSTA — bust of Julia Domna facing right, pearl border. Reverse: PIETAS AVGG — veiled Pietas standing left, holding a patera in her right outstretched hand above a burning altar, a ciborium in her left, pearl border. Iconography: Pietas (personification) depicted seated with a patera, standing in front of an altar, and standing. Roman Empire, 198–209. Coin (Rome): silver denarius; diameter ~17.5–18.0 mm; weight 2.22 g.
