Denarius, emperor on horseback, Septimius Severus (Roman emperor; 146–211) — iconography: spears. Obverse: SEVERVS PIVS AVG, head of Septimius Severus in a laurel wreath facing right, pearl rim. Reverse: ADVENTA VGG, emperor in military garb on horseback with raised forelegs, right hand raised, holding a scepter in his left; in front of the horse stands a soldier turned left holding a vexillum in his right hand and the horse's bridle in his left, pearl rim. Date: 201–210 CE, Rome, Roman Empire. Coin: diameter 18.0–18.5 mm, weight 2.93 g.
