Denarius of Septimius Severus (Roman Emperor, 146–211). Obverse: Head of Septimius Severus in a laurel wreath facing right, pearl rim; inscription 'SEVERVS AVG PART MAX'. Reverse: Emperor in a laurel wreath and military dress with cloak over his left shoulder, standing with head turned left; in his right hand he holds a patera above a burning tripod, in his left hand a spear pointing downwards; pearl rim; legend 'RESTITVTOR VRBIS'. Rome, 200–201 CE. Coin; diameter ~16.5–19.5 mm, weight 2.90 g.
