Denarius of Commodus (161–192; Roman emperor 177–192). Obverse: head of Commodus in a laurel wreath to the right, inscribed M·COMM·A·P·FEL·AVG·BRIT around. Reverse: Victoria half-naked, with her foot on a helmet on the ground, stands to the right and attaches a shield inscribed VO/DE to a tree trunk, inscribed SA·C·FEL·PM·TRP·XI·IMP·VII·COS·V·PP around. Roman Empire, Rome; coin. Diameter 17.5–18.5 mm, weight 2.75 g, axis 180°.
