Sestertius of Commodus (161–192; Roman emperor 177–192). Obverse: Head of Commodus in a laurel wreath to the right, inscription 'M COMMODVS ANTOG PIVS B' (all around). Reverse: Victoria half-naked seated on shields to the right, holding a stylus in her right hand and with her left hand holding a shield resting on her knees; inscriptions 'P–M' (all around), 'VICT BRIT' in section, 'SC' in fields. Date: 184–185. Roman Empire (27 BC–476), Rome. Coin (sestertius): diameter 27.0 mm, weight 20.90 g, axis 180°.
