Sestertius of Marcus Aurelius (121–180; Roman emperor 161–180). Obverse: head of Marcus Aurelius in a laurel wreath to the right, legend 'M ANTONINVS - AVG TR P XXVII'. Reverse: Jupiter sits on a throne to the left; in his outstretched right hand he holds Victoria, in his left hand he holds a scepter; legend 'I S III' and mark 'SC'. Dated 172–173. Roman Empire (27 BC–476), Rome. Coin; weight 20.4 g; diameter ~28.5–29.5 mm; axis 180°.
