Denarius of Marcus Aurelius (121–180; Roman emperor 161–180), 169–170. Obverse: Head of Marcus Aurelius with laurel wreath facing right, inscription ONINVS AVG - TR P XXIIII (circumferential). Reverse: Salus standing left; in his right hand she holds a patera feeding a snake coiled around an altar, in her left hand a long scepter, inscription S, VTI - AVG COS III (circumferential). Iconography: scepters, personifications, paterae, snakes, Salus, altars. Roman Empire (27 BC–476). Coin; diameter 17.5–19.0 mm, weight 2.99 g, axis 0°.
