Denarius of Marcus Aurelius (121–180; Roman emperor 161–180). Obverse: Head of Marcus Aurelius without a covering to the right, inscription NINVS AV, - ARM, all around. Reverse: Armenia personified, in a short robe, trousers and a pointed cap, seated to the left; in front of her a shield and a standard (vexillum), supporting her head with her right hand, resting her left hand on a bow and a quiver, inscription PM TR P XV, COS III, in the exergue ARMEN. Dated 163–164. Roman Empire (27 BC–476), Rome. Coin, silver; weight 3.08 g; diameter 16.0–17.0 mm; axis 180°.
