Denarius of Marcus Aurelius (121–180; Roman emperor 161–180). Obverse: Head of Marcus Aurelius with a laurel wreath to the right, inscribed 'ONIN AVG - ARMENIACVS'. Reverse: Armenia personified, seated to the left in a short robe, trousers and pointed cap; she supports her head with her right hand, rests her left hand on a bow and quiver, with a shield and a standard (vexillum) in front; inscription 'PM TR P XVIII IMP II COS III' and episode mark 'ARMEN.' Date: 163–164. Rome, Roman Empire (27 BC–476). Coin; weight 3.1 g; diameter 16.5–17.0 mm; axis 0°.
