Denarius, ca. 155–156. Obverse: Head of young Marcus Aurelius without a cap to right, inscription 'AVRELIVS CAES - PII F' circumferential. Reverse: Virtus standing left, holding a parade dagger (parazonium) in his right hand and a spear with the head down in his left, inscription 'RP - OT X - COS II' circumferential. Issued under Antoninus Pius (issuer) and Marcus Aurelius (heir to the throne); iconography includes personifications, parazonium, spears, Virtus. Roman Empire (27 BC–476). Coin: silver denarius; diameter 16.0–17.5 mm, weight 3.35 g, axis 0°.
