Denarius, posthumous issue for Faustina the Elder (98–141; Roman empress 138–141). Issuer: Antoninus Pius (86–161; Roman emperor 138–161). Obverse: Bust of Faustina I in drapery facing right, inscription DIVA AVG. Reverse: Pietas in a veil stands left; with right hand she pours incense on a burning candelabrum, in left hand holds a container of incense, inscription P, T - VG. Iconography: incense, candelabra, Pietas (personification), personifications. After 141, Roman Empire (27 BC–476), Rome. Coin: denarius; diameter 17.0 mm; weight 2.50 g; axis 180°.
