Denarius, Antoninus Pius (86–161; Roman emperor 138–161), issuer: Antoninus Pius. Obverse: head of the emperor in a laurel wreath facing right, inscription ANTONINVS AVG - IVS PP IMP II. Reverse: Annona (personification) stands to the right with one foot on the prow of a ship; in her right hand she holds a long rudder resting on a globe, in her left a container with ears of corn (modius), inscription TR POT X - X - COS IIII. Date: 156–157. Roman Empire, Rome. Coin: diameter 16.5–17.0 mm, weight 2.95 g, axis 180°.
