Denarius of Antoninus Pius (86–161; Roman emperor 138–161). Obverse: Head of Antoninus Pius with a laurel wreath facing right, inscription A•TONINVS•AV•PIVS•PP•II. Reverse: The emperor in a toga and veil stands left, holding a patera above a tripod with a bull lying behind it, and a scroll in his left hand, inscription VOTA SOL•DECENN•II; episode COS IIII (158–159). Roman Empire (27 BC–476), Rome. Coin: diameter 14.0–15.0 mm, weight 2.25 g, axis 180°.
