Denarius, Antoninus Pius (86–161; Roman emperor 138–161), issuer. Obverse: head of the emperor in a laurel wreath facing right, legend 'ANTONINVS AVG PI - VS PP TR P XVIII'. Reverse: Annona stands left, holds ears of corn in her right hand, rests her left on a container (modius) standing on a ship, legend 'C OS - IIII'. Personifications (iconography), ears of corn, modius, ships. Date: 154–155. Culture: Roman Empire (27 BC–476), Rome. Coin; diameter 17.5–18.5 mm, weight 2.90 g, axis 180 degrees.
