Denarius of Antoninus Pius (86–161; Roman emperor 138–161). Obverse: Head of Antoninus Pius in a laurel wreath facing right, legend 'A·[N]TONINVS·AVG·PIVS·PP·TR·P·XII'. Reverse: Annona standing left, holding ears of corn above a container (modius) in her right hand and an anchor in her left. Inscription fragments 'C·OS·IIII' (consulship). Iconography: Annona (personification), ears of corn, modius, anchor. Date: 148–149. Roman Empire (27 BC–476). Coin: diameter 17.0–18.0 mm, weight 2.10 g, axis 0°.
