Denarius of Antoninus Pius (86–161; Roman emperor 138–161), 147–148 CE. Obverse: head of the emperor in a laurel wreath to the right, inscription ANTONINVS AVG PIVS PP TR P XI. Reverse: Annona (personification) standing left, holding ears of corn above a modius in her right hand and an anchor in her left, inscription C OS III I. Iconography: anchors, ears of corn, Annona standing with ears of corn held above a modius, head of the emperor in a laurel wreath. Roman coin; diameter c.17.0–17.5 mm, weight 3.45 g, axis 195°.
