Denarius of Hadrian (76–138; Roman emperor 117–138). Obverse: Bust of Hadrian with laurel wreath facing right; rim inscription IMPCAESARTRAIANHADRIANVSAVG. Reverse: Salus seated left, wearing a long robe; in her outstretched right hand she holds a patera from which she consecrates gifts on the lit altar in front of her, a snake is entwined around the altar, her left hand rests on the back of a chair; rim inscription PM TR P COS III; field inscription SALVSAVG. Date: 119–122. Material: coin (denarius). Weight: 2.80 g. Location: Rome, Roman Empire.
