Antoninus Pius (86–161; Roman emperor 138–161), issuer. Bronze coin (Roman, Rome), dated 140–144. Obverse: head of the emperor in a laurel wreath facing right, inscription ANTONINVS·AVG·PIV. Reverse: Spes walking left, holding a flower in her right hand and lifting the hem of her robe with her left, inscription TR·POT·COS·III…·S·C. Diameter 26.5–27.0 mm, weight 8.40 g, axis 345°.
