Sestertius, Antoninus Pius (86–161; Roman emperor 138–161). Obverse: Bust of Antoninus Pius in a laurel wreath and cloak (paludamentum) facing right, inscription 'ANTONINVS AVG PI - VS PP, COS III'. Reverse: Annona stands to the right; in her lowered right hand she holds ears of corn above a modius, in her left hand a cornucopia above a ship's prow, inscription 'ANNO - NA AVG' and 'SC'. Iconography: personifications, ears of corn, modius, cornucopias, ship's prow; motif: bust of Antoninus Pius in laurel wreath and paludamentum. Date: 140–144. Roman Empire, Rome. Coin: bronze, diameter 32.0–33.0 mm, weight 21.10 g, axis 30°.
