Denarius of Antoninus Pius (86–161; Roman emperor 138–161). Obverse: Bust of Antoninus Pius in a cloak (paludamentum) with a laurel wreath, facing right; legend ANTONINVS AVG PI - VS PP TR P COS III. Reverse: The emperor in military dress (paludamentum) stands facing right, resting his left leg on a globe; in his outstretched right hand he holds a spear with the head pointing down and in his left hand a dagger (parazonium). Dated 140–144. Roman Empire. Coin. Diameter 17.0–19.0 mm; weight 2.98 g; axis 180°.
