Denarius of Trajan (53–117 CE; Roman emperor 98–117). Obverse: head of Trajan right, decorated with a laurel wreath; rim inscription. Reverse: Pax standing left in a long robe with drapery, holding a torch in her right hand with which she ignites a pile of armor and shields lying in front of her, and a cornucopia in her left hand; rim inscription includes COS VP P SPQR OPTIMO PRINC and the word 'PAX'. Date: 103–111 CE. Roman Empire (27 BC–476). Rome. Coin; weight 3.22 g.
