Denarius of Trajan (53–117; Roman Emperor 98–117). Obverse: bust of Trajan facing right, wearing a laurel wreath and robe; rim inscription: IMP TRAIANO AVG GER DAC PM TR P COS VPP. Reverse: the Genius, girded only with a robe, stands facing left, holding a patera in his outstretched right hand consecrating gifts over an altar below, and a cornucopia in his left; rim inscription: SPQR OPTIMO PRINCIPI. Date: 103–111. Roman Empire (27 BC–476). Coin; weight 2.75 g.
