Gdansk ducat, Lesse, Daniel (1656–1685), John II Casimir Vasa (King of Poland; reign 1648–1668). Obverse: bust of the king with a crown, right profile, wearing the Order of the Golden Fleece, within a rope rim: IOAN.CAS.DGREX POL.& SUEC.MD. Reverse: coat of arms held by two lions, wreath surrounding a flower at top, cartouche dividing the letters DL at bottom; in a corded rim: MON:AUREA CIVITAT.GEDANEN.1657. 1657. Poland, Gdansk. Coin, weight 3.40 g., A circular metallic object with a textured surface in shades of gold and yellow, featuring ornate raised designs including a central shield flanked by a pair of stylized animals, decorative floral and rope-like motifs surrounding the center, and a patterned rim; the metal shows areas of slight wear and darker golden toning.
