Two gold crown coins, 1766. Obverse: Head of Stanislaw August Poniatowski, inscription around the rim 'STANISLAUS AUG. D. G. REX PO, MDL', pearl border. Reverse: Under a crown, in a wreath, a round five-field coat of arms with the coats of arms of Poland (Orzel), Lithuania (Pogon) and the Poniatowski coat of arms (Ciolek); around it a wreath with the Order of the White Eagle; on the sides '8. - GR.', inscription in the rim 'XL. EX. MARCA. - PURA. COL: 1766.', pearl border, decorative edge. Maker: Sylm, Frederick William (fl. 1765–1767). Type: Polish crown coins; iconography includes portrait of ruler, multi-field coats of arms, coats of arms under a crown, orders (Order of the White Eagle). Place: Warsaw, Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth. Coin diameters: 29.0 mm and 29.4 mm; weight: 9.14 g.
