Circular wax impression of the seal of the office of the Elector of Saxony in Dresden. In the field of the seal, an oval crowned shield with the coat of arms of Saxony. The shield is bipartite with a column. The right field is bipartite with a black stripe at the top and a white stripe in the lower field, against this background two crossed swords. The left field has five gold and five black horizontal stripes and a stripe lying diagonally to the right. Below the shield are two crossed palm branches. In the rim the inscription: CHURFURSTE: SAECHS: AMT: DRESDEN. Second wax seal — decorative monogram FTL (Friedrich Traugoth Ludewig), 1794. Locations noted: Germany, Dresden; Poland, Elblag., The image shows a close-up of textured beige paper with a round red wax seal pressed onto it; the wax seal has an embossed ornate design with floral and scroll motifs and some dark speckles and slight cracking, and there is a small area of dark smudging on the seal.
