Légende
Bracteate, 1135–1138. In a pearl border, on the left, facing right, a kneeling prince (Boleslaw III Krzywousty, Prince of Poland, 1086–1138) shown in profile with hands outstretched toward a bishop. Dressed in liturgical vestments, Saint Adalbert (ca. 956–997) holds a crosier in his left hand while his right hand rests on the prince's head. Around the rim, in a linear border, inscription: +•L•R:EBBEZLAVS. Romanesque style; iconography includes gesture of protection, bishops, martyrs. Coin (bracteate), diameter 26.0–27.8 mm, weight 0.58 g.
