Légende
Bracteate, attributed to Boleslaw III Wrymouth (Prince of Poland; 1086–1138), 1135–1138. In a pearl border, on the left side facing right, a kneeling prince shown in profile has his hands outstretched toward a bishop standing before him. Dressed in liturgical vestments, St. Adalbert (ca. 956–997) holds a crosier in his left hand while his right hand rests on the prince's head. Around the rim, in a linear border, is the inscription EBLDAVOIBEZLA. Romanesque style; liturgical vestment imagery; gesture of protection; depiction of bishop/saint and kneeling prince. Coin (bracteate), diameter 24.3–26.9 mm, weight 0.53 g.
