Denarius of Boleslaw III Krzywousty (prince of Poland; 1107–1138). Obverse: in a linear border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the jaws of an upside-down dragon. Reverse: in a triple beaded border, an isosceles cross topped with balls (two with one dot each); between its arms, one ball (each with one dot). Iconography: knight, dragon, spears, chain mail, equal-armed cross; themes of fight between good and evil, fight against pagans; Romanesque style; possible depiction of Saint Adalbert. Date: ca. 1125–1138. Place: Kraków, Poland. Coin: diameter 12.8–13.1 mm; weight 0.38 g.
