Denarius, Boleslaw III Krzywousty (Prince of Poland; 1086–1138). Obverse: in a beaded border, a knight in chain mail thrusting a spearhead into the jaws of an upside-down dragon. Reverse: in a triple beaded border, an isosceles cross topped with balls; at the intersection of the arms a ball; one arm intersects the other at approximately 1/3 of its length. Iconography: spearhead, chain mail, equal-armed cross, crosses, mouth, knight, dragon, fight between good and evil, fight against pagans; motifs associated with Adalbert (St.; ca. 956–997), martyrs, knights; Romanesque style. Date: ca. 1125–1138. Place: Poland, Kraków. Coin. Diameter 11.6–11.9 mm. Weight 0.39 g.
